It's been a busy year... Part III

Less than a week after returning from our DisneyWorld trip, I boarded a plane to fly to Brussels, Belgium for another business trip. I was able to take British Airways, so I went to Brussels each way with a layover in London. Since my sister Alicia just moved to London in early October, I made my return layover last a few days.

When I arrived in Brussels, the jet lag had a huge affect on me. Normally I do not drink anything with caffeine (why get re-addicted?), but I definitely had many espressos in the office to stay awake. The first night I ended up catching up on sleep. The second night was a group dinner at the Marriott in Brussels, which included a setup of two Wiis. Since the Marriott is so close to the Grand Place (unlike the hotel where I was staying), I took advantage of the situation and walked down to the Grand Place. Since I had my digital camera, I tried to take some photos of the area.

On the way to the Grand Place, there is a fountain in the center of the street. It has three different levels for drinking - one for humans, one for horses and one for dogs.

The next night's group event was a dinner tour of Brussels. Each course was at a different place. We ended up walking around the Grand Place and the surrounding area.

That night was the first time that I heard about Jeanneke Pis, the relatively much younger (1987) sister to Manneken Pis, built in a less frequented area of town.

It was also the first night that I saw Manneken Pis.

After the tour, I bought some chocolate to take with me to London - my destination for the next night!
